Job Summary
The Communications Officer will support the development and dissemination of content that highlights program activities and impact. The role focuses on strengthening visibility, engagement, and communication with key stakeholders through compelling storytelling and digital content.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of communication strategies for ongoing projects.
- Collect and produce communication materials including stories, blogs, photos, videos, and social media content.
- Develop program factsheets, brochures, and other communication materials.
- Produce engaging written and audio-visual content that showcases program impact.
- Support media engagement and external communication activities while ensuring brand consistency.
- Manage and update social media platforms and monitor engagement metrics.
- Maintain an organized archive of communication materials including photos, videos, and documents.
- Support program teams in documenting activities and capturing communication content from the field.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in communications, digital media, or content production.
- Experience with digital photography, videography, and social media management.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
